Homemade Guns, Lego Edition

Lego doesn’t sell these
People will build anything out of Legos: the Capitol Building, a working cello, Homer Simpson. (These and other amazing creations may be seen here.) But one common theme is, well, weapons. From laser rifles to slingshots, people seem unable to resist taking nonviolent toys designed in Scandinavia and turning them into firearms.

There are small-scale versions, too, sized for minfigs. The top photo displays several offerings from BrickArms, which has a wide range of “realistic” long guns your Lego warfighters might need.

But I’m still waiting for the next step: Lego guns that actually shoot. True, the automatic rifle shown here does fire small Lego bricks, using rubber bands. While an remarkable technical feat, they’re not, you know, real bullets.
These guys should probably get together with some of the
Filipino shade-tree gunsmiths I’ve written about.
